Bethesda is marking the 20th Anniversary of Wolfenstein 3D, the original, and now legendary, game that launched the first person shooter genre (“halt, comenzie!”) by releasing a free-to-play browser version of the game. You can now play the classic PC game directly in browser at: wolfenstein.bethsoft.com or on the Wolfenstein Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/wolfenstein.

While you’re on the site, check out our Bethesda Podcast video featuring John Carmack, technical director of id Software, as he shares his insights into the creation and the development of Wolfenstein 3D while playing the game. I can’t post the interview here because we don’t age gate.
Later today they will also be offering Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum, available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, free for a limited time. To download Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum from iTunes visit: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wolfenstein-3d-classic-platinum/id309470478?mt=8.
Have fun!
